Greek Loan /// The American aid + the story of a mule # 02

The “Story of Koula” is an agitprop movie featuring the delivery of American-bred mules under the auspices of the AMAG, in postwar rural Greece.  Excellent footage and photography in a movie full of clichés and folklorist sentimentalism.

“As farmers learned to handle their new American mules their lives became just a little easier; their farms became just a little more productive and Greece itself became just a little happier land to live in”

the end

The film was directed by Vittorio Gallo and the music was written by Ennio Porrino.  Videos via Footage Farm
